Job Scope

  • Baking and Pastry Production: Prepare, bake, and assemble various baked goods such as bread, cakes, pastries, and other desserts according to established recipes and standards.
  • Quality Control: Ensure that all products meet the required quality standards, including taste, appearance, and freshness.
  • Inventory Management: Monitor and manage the ingredients and supplies needed for production, ensuring that stocks are maintained at optimal levels.
  • Kitchen Cleanliness and Safety: Maintain a clean and safe working environment by following hygiene and safety protocols, ensuring proper handling of equipment and ingredients.
  • Collaboration and Teamwork: Work closely with other team members in the kitchen to ensure smooth production, efficiency, and timely completion of orders.

Requirement

– Educational Qualification:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent (some employers may require this as a basic entry-level qualification).
  • Vocational Training or Certifications in Baking and Pastry Arts, Culinary Arts, or a related field (such as a diploma or certificate from a recognized culinary school).

– Work Experience:

  • Previous Experience in a bakery, pastry shop, or kitchen environment (typically 1-3 years).
  • Experience with Baking Equipment: Familiarity with ovens, mixers, and other bakery equipment is often essential.

– Skills and Competencies:

  • Knowledge of Baking Techniques: Understanding of various baking methods, ingredient proportions, and recipe formulations.
  • Creativity and Decoration: Ability to decorate cakes, pastries, and desserts artistically.
  • Attention to Detail: Precision in following recipes, ensuring quality control, and maintaining consistency in products.
  • Physical Stamina: Ability to work long hours standing, lifting heavy items, and working in a hot environment.

 – Health and Safety Knowledge:

  • Food Safety Certification: Knowledge of food safety standards, including hygiene practices and safe food handling (some regions require certifications like ServSafe or equivalent).

– Teamwork and Communication:

  • Ability to work collaboratively with other kitchen staff.
  • Good communication skills to coordinate with supervisors and team members.

Position requirements: Typhoid certificate (sijil pengendalian makanan)
